Tit For Tat

Yes,I love breasts, but that is not what this post is about.

It is about how our supposed 'liberal' media{Hey!I'm talking to you N.P.R.},is not so fair and balanced as we would like to believe them to be.

I am talking about the current set of violence in the middle east:And how it is reported in the United states.

First off, listen to this pod cast from N.P.R.'s
'Morning Edition' on Friday,March 7th. [Note:Once on the site, you have to click onto the pod cast].This report is on the atrocious attack on a Jewish seminary by a lone gunman. He killed 8 people. This is a terrible tragedy, and my heart bleeds for the families and their lost.

But this post isn't about that.It is about about the media's pro-Israeli bias...or,better put,it's anti-Palestine bias.

Listen to the pod cast.Go on line and read almost any American newspaper article on this story.

Tit for tat.

Listen to the podcast.

According to this news story, because of a unspecified amount of rocket attacks(two?twenty?)by unspecific persons(Hamas? Militants?Lone individuals?) one Israeli was killed.

In retaliation, the Israeli army killed '120' Palestinians !Around half of them 'civilians'!No mention of the amount of wounded!

Not only is this fact breezed over,it is further diminished by inferring that the known 'terrorist' organization Hamas(while denying claim to this act) supported this lone gunman(if we are to call him a 'terrorist',are we not via the rules of media, then supposed to call the American lone gunmen-i.e. Virginia Tech- 'terrorists',too?).

I am pro-God.I am pro-Israel.

But...

...As an American, where the saying goes:'Truth,Justice and The American Way',how am I supposed to have a blind eye to this openly bias to the point of propaganda piece of journalism?

One Israeli dies from rocket attacks.Yes,a terrible, unnecessary tragedy. But then to not only dismiss 120 deaths-around 60 of them admittedly civilian-and then to imply that they were justified...

...how can I not then equally dismiss the '8' deaths in retaliation for the 120?

Are we,as Americas so conditioned to think of the Palestinians as dogs and less then human that 120 of their deaths means less to us then 8 of our Israeli friends?

If so...

...If you are Palestinian, how are you to view us as Americans? How are other countries in the region supposed to view us?

I am not for my own country right or wrong.Neither am I this way for our allies.Nor should I be.

Because Jesus came from a Jewish heritage, most Americans see Israel as God's chosen people..and rightfully so.

But there should be a caution in this.Follow God:Not man.Anyone that has read the Christian 'Old Testament' or the Jewish 'Torah',know when the Israelites did not follow their God,God,in His righteousness, with love for his people, did not spare the rod.

By following Israel blindly,we may be doing actually more harm to our allies then good.

That is why our U.S.A. government should follow it's own Constitution and keep church and state separate.

The first step in this direction would be-should be-fairly balanced news reporting from our media.

If we are going to be a continued force in the middle east, the American public should be as well versed in the politics of the region as possible.Current bias reporting hurts our cause both here and abroad.

Truth.It will set us free.
