Another Dollar Tree Book

'Inside The Wire',by Eric Saar and his co-writer,
Viveca Novak is yet another very good book from 'The Dollar Tree'.

As the cover notes, this 2005 book is 'a military Intelligence soldier's eyewitness account of life at Guantanamo.'

Though I am only half way through this very fast read, the thing I find most disturbing about the Guantanoma Bay detention camp is not the lack of rights,or supposed mistreatment of the detainees...I have heard this information before.Nor is it about the supposed tortures that were supposedly going on at the base.I have -so far-read very little at all about that. What is so shocking to me is the hell our troops stationed there where going through.

Linguists form all nationalities and religions were thrown together with very little training or power into the powder keg that was/is this operation. They were hated by most MP's,interrogators, and other military personnel. It was a totally stress filled environment for everyone involved. The place is a Snafu if there ever was one.

Mr.Saar's personal perspective is rather refreshing in that he seldom tries to hide his own hope, flaws and fears. This makes the book seem even more personal and real...a twisted horror story in some respects...but very very real.

Ya' just can't beat a good Dollar Tree book
